
Shanti Thing Tamang, a 35-year-old woman from Sindhupalchowk, is a courageous and inspiring individual who has dedicated much of her life to trekking and guiding others through Nepal’s breathtaking mountains. Growing up in a village, she developed a deep connection with the natural beauty of the Himalayas, which sparked her passion for trekking. Now living with her family in Kathmandu, Shanti is a devoted mother to her son, balancing family life with her career as a trekking guide. Her strength and resilience have been shaped by both her village roots and city life. Shanti’s extensive experience in guiding trekkers through Nepal’s rugged landscapes has prepared her for the challenges of the Great Himalayan Trail (GHT). Joining the GHT expedition is a testament to her commitment to exploring the highest and most remote regions of Nepal.
